Green River Killings

On November 5, 2003, Gary Leon Ridgway plead guilty to killing 48 women between 1982 and 1990 in the Seattle, Washington area. He's slated as America's most prolific serial killer, but here at Cold Serial predators such as himself aren't lauded what so ever. Before his arrest and trial, this page was filled with information on most of the murders with the goal of bringing awareness to society of the killings with the hope of leading to an arrest. Now as the Green River Killings draw to a close, we use this page to remember the victims and send our deepest sympathies to their families.

Though the Green River Killings are said to be solved, there are four victims whose identities remain unknown. And just as those four victims remain nameless, there are still other unsolved killings and/or disappearances of women that could possibly be victims of Gary Ridgway or possibly another killer(s). For those reasons, information on those victims will remain listed on Cold Serial until their identities are known and/or their senseless murders resolved.

Still Missing

Gary Ridgway plead guilty to killing 48 women. Some of those victims were listed on the Green River Task Force Official Victims List, some were not. Other missing women who WERE listed as victims of the Green River Killer were never found… Does that mean they are not victims of Ridgway?? No one knows for sure. If he killed them, perhaps they were disposed of in cluster that was never located, one that he chose not to reveal to authorities. Perhaps they were the victims of other killers who worked during the same time frame as Ridgway. Regardless, they are still missing, need to be located, and their killer charged:

Kase Ann Lee was last known to have been seen at her home on Saturday, August 28, 1982. She left to go to the store and did not return. Ms. Lee apparently held down a job at a local PhotoMat, and was married to a pimp by the street name 'Pretty Tony', though her exact involvement in prostitution is unclear. Her aliases included Rachel Marie Chinery, Wanda Marie Mercury, Cynthia Marie.

Rebecca Marrero, then age 20, was last seen at her mother's home in Seattle on December 3, 1982, at 10:30 a.m. She left shortly after a heated telephone conversation, taking no clothes and making no arrangements for her child. She was last seen in the Western Six Motel area of Pacific Highway South wearing a blue jean dress, a blouse, and white tennis shoes..

Kelly McGinness was last seen at approximately 10:00 p.m. on June 28, 1983, in the Three Bears Motel area at South 216th Street and Pacific Highway South (although a second report indicates she was last seen at South 220th Street and PHS at 7:30 p.m.). She was last seen wearing a tan short-sleeve sweater, a tan camel hair coat, and blue jeans. Keli was an 18-years-old mother of one child at the time of her disappearance. She had blonde hair, brown or blue eyes, fair skin, and stood 5 feet 5 inches tall. Ms. McGinness was a known prostitute, who sometimes used the alias Jennifer Kaufmann, and it was her pimp who reported her missing to the Des Moines Police Department the day after she vanished.

In 1982, Port of Seattle a patrol officer conducted a field interview with Gary Ridgway and "Jennifer Kaufmann" after finding them sitting in a truck near the Little League field north of SeaTac Airport. The truck was parked very near to the place where the remains of Ridgway victim Cheryl Wims were located a year later. Ridgway admitted having contact with McGinness when interviewed by the Green River Task Force in April 1984.

Nineteen-year-old Patricia Osborn disappeared on October 20, 1983, at approximately 7:00 p.m. She was last seen in the 99 Motel area at 11502 Aurora North in a prostitution stroll zone. She had regular contact with her mother by telephone, but the calls stopped sometime in September 1983.

Investigate this...

Have one of the still missing Green River victims been located??

Skeletal remains found near Green River
August 26, 2004

Unidentified

Aside from the still missing "Official" Green River victims, there are four of Gary Ridgway's victims that remain unidentified. Sadly, they can only be referred to by a number.

If you have any information as to the identities of the women listed below, please contact the King County Sheriff at Greenrivertips@metrokc.gov or Cold Serial at elizabeth@coldserial.net

Unidentified Victim #10

The remains of Unidentified Victim #10 were found on March 21, 1984, by a man working at the Highline Little League Field in Seattle. Apparently, the man witnessed a dog that had a human leg bone in its mouth and called authorities. The dog eventually lead the way back to a nearly complete human skeleton in a brushy area north of SeaTac airport at South 146th Street and 16th Avenue South. After a search of the area, investigators also located the remains of Cheryl Wims.

According to the King County Sheriff’s Department, this victim is believed to be a very young white female, between 12 and 18 years old, standing between 5’3 and 5’9, and weighing approximately 110 to 130 pounds. She likely had brown hair, was probably left-handed, and had a healed fracture on the left temporal area of her skull.

Unidentified Victim #16

On December 30, 1985, a couple walking along a road near Mountain View Cemetery, close to the area where the remains of Kimi-Kai Pitsor were found, noticed a wrecked car in a wooded ravine and reported it to the Auburn Police Department. The car had disturbed the skeletal remains belonging to
Unidentified Victim #16 who was actually, later discovered by a couple of cemetery workers who wanted to look over the wrecked car.

The victim is believed to be an African American female between 20 and 25 years old, and standing between 5’0 and 5’4. It is estimated the remains had been at the location for approximately 12 to 18 months prior to their discovery. Additionally, the remains of Unidentified Victim #17 were located nearby when the area was searched by investigators.

Unidentified Victim #17

In February on 1984 a lower human jawbone was found by a dog approximately a half-mile way from the site where Kimi-Kai Pitsor’s skull had been located in December of 1983. The jawbone remained a mystery until it was eventually matched to the skull of Unidentified Victim #17, whose additional remains were located across from Mountain View Cemetery on January 2, 1986, during an investigation of the area where the remains of Unidentified Victim #16 were discovered.

This individual is believed to be a white female between 14 and 19 years old, standing between 4’7 and 5’8 tall. It was estimated that she had been killed sometime in 1983.

Unidentified Victim #20

In August 2003 Gary Ridgway directed investigators to the location of the remains of Unidentified Victim #20 in a ravine off of Kent-Des Moines Road. The victim is said to be a female between the ages of 13 and 24 years old. Her race and height are not known. It is estimated that she was murdered sometime between 1973 and 1993.

Forgotten Victims???

There are three women who were listed on the Official Victims List, that seem to have vanished off the Green River radar... One of them a Seattle mother who was once thought to be the first victim of the Green River Killer. The other two, women whose remains were found in the state of Oregon, thus their cases could not be part of Gary Ridgway's King County confessions -- IF he's responsible for them.

There are other suspects that could have been murdering at the same time as Ridgway. Read about the life and actions of William J. Stevens. You be the judge... Do you think Stevens played a part in murders that fell under the Green River case??? Discuss your thoughts at theCold Serial Board.

We hope that someday their families can find a resolve to these cases...

Amina Agisheff
This 36-year-old mother of two had no record of prostitution, was in a stable relationship, and worked as a waitress in downtown Seattle where she was last seen on Wednesday, July 7, 1982, at approximately 11:20 p.m. Her body was located at Highway 18 near Interstate 90 on April 18, 1984, reportedly by a Weyerhaeuser Company worker who was operating road builing equipment.

Tammy Liles
Sixteen-year-old Tammy Liles was last seen June 9, 1983, in the downtown Seattle area near the Pike Place Market. However, she had long been a victim of the Green River Killer by the time she had been reported missing. In March of 1988, her sister notified investigators that Liles hadn’t been seen by family in several years and provided information for investigators to obtain her dental records. Once reviewed, the charts led to the identification of Liles remains, which had been located on April 23, 1985, in Tualatin, Oregon, along with the remains of an unidentified victim.

Tualatin, OR Unidentified
The remains of "Tualatin 1" were located on April 22, 1985 in a green belt area near rail road tracks next to a golf course on SW Tualatin Road in Tigard, OR -- a suburb of Portland in Washington County. The remains were found near the remains of Tammy Liles.

Though her remains have gone missing, this victim is believed to be a white female, between 17 and 19 years old, standing 5’4 to 5’7 tall.
